Yes, the string synth doesn't do much.
Yes there will be people, who wouldn't use one.
Yes there are CD ROMs.
And even then a software version of an OMNI (or something similar) should be made. It's just a matter of time before it happens. Comparing to something like an Odyssey an OMNI doesn't do much, but it DOES have it's own unique sound and possibilities. By the same token the B3 organ and a Mellotron can't even be called synths, but that doesn't stop people from using them and their software equivalents.
There are people who will appreciate a soft string synth. I am one of them.
