of performance video AND sound quality today and Why.?

Hello Donny;

My setup is mostly based on what I happen to have but not on what I want to have :-) For this reason I still can't make HD videos.

But basics are:

Video is recorded with digital cameras. Cason IXUS 860 and Panasonic DMC-FZ50. Canon gives a much better picture.

The sound is recorded separately on a computer with Magix Samplitude. I also apply "normalisation" to it with Sound Forge software.

Then I have 3 files to work with in Adobe Premiere (I use an old one - Pro 2.0 as my computer is rather modest as well). I have to synchronise all files looking at their audio waves.

Then I export a video file, and then I have to compress the file again using one more program, as it is usually too large after Premiere.

I believe that with modern equipment and software it can be rather different. All I can say that it took me some time to get adjusted to Premiere. I used MovieMaker for a long time but if you want to use multiple cameras it won't be very useful.
