I've been "divorced" from Apple for years...but it may be possible now to find an "app" that fills your needs. I finally gave up in fighting the system, bought a good "other brand" smart phone, put it in "airplane mode" and connected it to my computer (an off-line unit) then transferred MP3 files of my songs I wanted to hear without being spied on. I never use this phone as a phone. It is my MP3 player of choice.

I can group the songs in any "playlist" or genre group as long as I stay within the memory limits of the phone.
