depends whether it is a technics format save or multitrack type save.

if technics, the volume could be in a panel memory, change the panel memory(ies) and do a panel write to set up the correct conditions at the start of the song. (I think the 3000 introduced the panel write feature?)

if multitrack, the volume could be at a control event at the beginning of the track, go into step record and edit the volume number when you cursor up to it.
