Willie is only one year older than me... but musically, he had a 50 year "head-start" and I'll never be able to catch up. LOL! (In my dreams!) He is one of the most prolific song-writers ever and most of his catalogue is multi-genre... not just "country."

What I like most about him, other than his talent, is his down-to-earth attitude and respect for his fellow man. He often stopped off in Texarkana to visit my Co-writing friend's father, a popular Radio Show Host (we used to call them Dee Jays) and they would Jam into the night at the Hackworth home... as did many of the Nashville crowd at that time.
