Well Doug. I have the kn6500.
For me, There is not a keyboard out there that is the best in every way. They all have their pro's and con's. There are boards out there that are better in some aspects, but most to me don't measure up to my 6500 when I average it all out. I have brought up a few weak points about the 6500 myself, hoping someone would suggest a way to beef them up. And I have also posted ways to do so. I don't think I am a bad guy for posting weak points, as long as my intent was right, and not just to slam the kn series. I tend to analize a lot also. That's just me. I am a perfectionist. And I like my originals to be the best they can. I admit one time I got pissed about the sequencer, and I know you remember. haha. Speaking of that, I am doing quite well with it now. As long as I use right1 and 2 last and don't copy from them. Which is no problem not to do. But why must everyone get so upset when people post a negative opinion about one aspect of the kn? After all we all paid a lot of money for it and can sometimes be a bit disappointed with one or two things about it. But this Garrett guy, doesn't even own a kn, and Because of that, I didn't care to see his post. What was the purpose, I asked myself. But anyways, there isn't a board out there without weak spots. Maybe in the 10's of thousands of dollars there is a perfect board. kn's have a lot of bang for the buck. While some sounds are a bit weak and thin. They can be beefed up with effects etc... and I think the user friendliness of the kn6500 and 7000 is unmatched by any board out there! The layout of the 6500 is perfect. Who wants to flip through menu's for everything? Not me. For you 6500 users who play beefed up sounds using effects and play it loud, and have to put up with the display pull up window rattling away: Sticking a piece of rubber, or a match book down in the crack on the back side of the lcd pull up part will stop that rattle. I used a piece of rubber. Stuffed it down in there with one end to big so it won't fall in. I think a full book of matches would not fall in if the small end was put in first. Not sure, I have no match books here. This is just an example how posting something negative can work out good. It gets people thinking, and someone comes up with a solution or a fix for it. I posted about the rattle and came up with the fix myself but if I had been happy enough with it, then it would still rattle today!
Sparky.
