My preferred method with Yamaha most recently has been:
1. Use the Music Finder to play songs. For each MFD entry I would assign a keyword. Then depending on the gig I could use the keyword to Search 1 or Search 2 in the Music Finder and I’d have just the song entries I needed. It’s the closest thing to Korg’s Songbook ( albeit less powerful ) and that’s why I started using Music Finder.
2. I use(d) registrations for change the voices. For the most part I used a set of 8 registration buttons for my most used voices. Always worked well for me. I also have other registrations for just pianos, just Hammond sounding organs, saxes, brass, etc.
