In fact this whole segment of Yamaha’s 76-keys instruments seems to be quite tricky.

It used to be DGX series, then Piaggero, now it’s simply PSR. It seems to me that intention is to fight with Casio WK series, as PSR-EW300 is quite close to WK-2400. Yamaha has increased polyphony up to 48 voices, to match Casio’s rival, but doesn’t go any further. It makes me a little bit nervous that adding a little bit more polyphony to PSR-EW400 and giving it Yamaha’s “Cool! Suitcase Piano” voice, that will be an instrument you can do a real job with, costing reasonable $500. Imagine what a thin ice it is? Because right now if you want PSR-EW400 with extra polyphony and at least one decent epiano voice – you have to buy Genos.
