Do you know if there is a version available for the Linux Mint Operating System? (It is a GUI type OS and free.)

Cost and learning curve would be my primary concerns... but do you also recommend using a dedicated, normally "off-line" computer as an added security measure? I know that updates and Virtual Instruments would require being "on-line" briefly.

I view the internet with much distrust these days.
