My experience is that forcing the average audience to clap at 2 and 4 will fail.

Trained listeners can do 2 and 4 clapping - and they feel as part of the rhythm group.

The average audience claps according to the rhythm they feel. So to speak their own rhythm group.

Listening to music is not an intellectual excersise; but an emotional execsise.
