Way back, before arrangers, I had several generations of Lowreys. The last one was Contempo 80. They were about the only organs back then that had passable auto bass and drums--not real good but passable for the time. I never paid more than about half the asking price for them.
I switched to Yamaha mainly because the dealer became a friend and wanted people to see me playing them. Last huge Yammy was FS500, a real beast. It think it was 1982 or 83. I got tired of lugging it around, along with Leslie, pedals, bench and huge pa. Went to a primitive Yamaha arranger PSR 60 maybe? I midied it to DX7, a drum machine, and a piano module. Mainly what the arranger did was generate bass patterns and basic strums.
We've come a long way!
