Hello ! It's me again with promised progress report.
First the typing problem. I tried all your suggestions Larry, but no joy. Then went a step further, after finding that massive Windows Bible by Alan Simpson, which had somehow got mislaid, and using the Device Manager "removed" the keyboard, then rebooted but problem still persists. Guess Doug was right, SPOOKS! and I'll just have to live with it, no problem.

Now the really important thing, ie the volume on the kn7. Went thru all the suggestions including initialization but again no joy. Then,lo and behold it happened when I was simply playing the keyboard, the volume just went down. The snag is that it only happens occaisionally so it's pretty useless to get a repair man to try and trace the fault - I'll just have to wait till it becomes a permanent fault. But then again, if Doug's spooks are in there it could clear itself. I'll have to try a bit of exorcism....
