I prepared an orchestral version of the "Petersburger Schlittenfahrt" the past two evenings, it's a version by ear, not identical to the original arrangement. My aim was to use nothing else but the Roland SRX 06 Complete Orchestra expansion, whose samples date back to the SR-JV expansions from 1999 and even 1993.
Despite the age of the samples, I think it would be totally impossible to achieve the same degree of realism with the onboard sounds of the Yamaha MoXF without using extra flash libraries. With libraries it would probably get a bit more realistic.
I recorded all parts manually playing on a Roland A300pro controller, this always sounds much more natural than computer-generated notes.

Rosetree, thank you so much! It sounds both realistic and natural! It's amazing to think that all the sounds are coming from the SRX-06! I know you usually use sounds from other libraries, but using only one source allows one to hear how good it is.

You want to make me run out and buy an Integra-7 right now!
