I once "lubricated" a camera tripod with a silicone spray (I don't remember the brand). The silicone certainly lubricated the tripod, but one of the other ingredients in the spray welded the plastic parts firmly together. I was only able to free the stuck parts by spraying it with more silicone spray and then working the parts apart after the solvent (or whatever it was) dissolved the bond it had created with the first spray.

Moral of the story: be careful what you spray on plastics.
