Hi Lucy,
You can turn on repeats on Steel Drums and Banjo, just by pressing the 'DIGITAL EFFECT' Button. However, the effect may not be to your liking so you can edit it and save the new sound to Sound Memory.
To produce a new sound on your steel drums, just carry out the following steps.
I should say that the procedure applies to a KN7000 but if I remember correctly, the KN6000 has the same or very similar procedure.
1. Select the Steel drum sound in RT1
2. Select Program Menus / Sound Edit
3. Select Effect (On Screen)
4. Select Page 2
5. You should now be able to scroll through the various TYPES of effect. (Repeat may already be selected by default)
6. Select 'REPEAT 1'
7. Change ON/OFF to ON
8. Adjust the other parameters (Speed, Intensity, Reverb etc) to produce your desired effect, whilst playing the keyboard - suggest speed about 24-25, although for slower songs, you may wish to reduce the repeat rate.
9. When you have achieved the desired effect, press EXIT and then WRITE.
10. Select a location in Sound Memory to save your edited sound and re-name it if required.
11. You may wish to save more than one edited version, with different repeat rates, for different tempo songs. Just repeat the process and save them under different names ( Steeldrum 1 Steeldrum 2 etc ) in Sound Memory.
11. You should then save the Sound Memories to Disc.
The repeat effect can be turned on and off, for both the built-in sound and your edited sounds, by pressing the 'DIGITAL EFFECT' button.
