Step One:
Sequence a new arrangement into the workstation
--- Currently the Motif ES7 or XF6
Step Two:
Record the final MIDI mix into a digital form. Out of the Keyboard's main L&R output... Thru the Yamaha n12 Digital Mixer... Thru an APHEX Compellor 320 to give punch and to level the audio... Then to one of the recorders...
--- Alesis ML9600 (Masterlink) then burn CD
--- Into my Focusrite Saffire 24DSP
--- Into Presonus Studio One as a WAV
--- Add processing if needed
--- Mixdown to 44.1kHz 16 bit WAV (For my Cakewalk VS100)
--- Second Mixdown to 256 kbps mp3 (for Korg Pa900)
--- play back the file for the gig on VS100 OR Pa900
Now, I have been thinking about switching to the DAW to sequence BUT I love the fact that it is you and the instrument. That instrument has a job it is dedicated to do (not email too.)
Looking forward to the next workstation from Yamaha... Fingers crossed for 2015!
