I did post this on the PSR forum..but there are some knowledgeable folks here so I thought I would repost it.

I've been reading as much as I can about recording with my Tyros 4.

It appears that final mix is always done by bouncing tracks to the original two track stereo master...?? In other words, two tracks are recorded, then a third is recorded and bounced(via a mix) to the original two tracks and a fourth track is recorded and bounced to the original two stereo tracks...and so on.

I'm asking this question because my(now ancient) Roland VS2480 is able to record up to 24 tracks which I could then mix to two stereo tracks. The advantage of course, is that I could remix the original tracks if I didn't like the final stereo mix.

Am I (pardon the pun) on track here? My Tyros 4 is not capable of mixing more than two tracks at once, correct?

Tx
