Have you tried more than one SD card so that you're certain that there isn't something broken on the case of the card?

Now if my dear grandfather were still with us he would whip out a soldering iron and some bits and pieces of junk to make something that would miraculously fix it. He was my hero and fixed many of my Technics keyboards (and cars).
