The demo is quite good. It's nice to see an arranger demo's not targeted to the old fuddy-duddy crowd that wants to sound just like Larwence Welk.
Just how much gear would you need get an authentic dance/club sound for a LIVE performance? Would it even be feasible to take it all out for a little gig?
Personally I don't see why you couldn't put on a pretty convincing show in most styles of music using just about any of today's arranger keyboard. Of course you'll need some good sound and maybe lights too. Most importantly you'll have entertain the audience and probably sing really well or have a great singer with you.
Now trying to please a teen crowd would be pretty tough. They want to hear the latest hits. If it sounds a bit different then the original artist (especially the vocal) they may not like much. Better to let the DJ's entertain the teens.
BTW, has anyone here ever DJ'd a teen dance? It pretty darn tough! You get kids crowed around you making request after request, complaining if they happen to not like the particular song your playing (even if the dance floor is packed) In my case, I have to make it a rule that the kids can't crowd around the DJ booth and only the adult chaperons can make requests. Now who's the old fuddy-duddy?
