The people in nursing homes today, in their 70s to 90s enjoy hearing songs that were popular when they were in their prime, 30, 40 or 50 years ago. This means they like songs from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. I never play Big Band or Swing songs in the nursing homes.
However it seems the Ensemble feature would be good for a lot of things, from James Brown to the Beatles, to the Tijuana Brass, Ray Charles . . .lots of things.
I like to retain the feeling of a small 4-piece band most of the time. Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano plus selected lead voices such as Sax and Organ. That's why there are so many options and so many great choices.
