You can assign it to a pedal, but not to a registration - I'm pretty sure. There are only two pedal inputs, so I can scarce use one to turn TALK on and off.

I just have to press two buttons when I want to turn TALK on, and two buttons when I want to turn it off. Come on Yamaha!
