MD is a very stable, viable media that sounds so close to CD quality - not many people can tell the differance. To be honest, the weakest link in your studio is not the MD - it's the mixer section of the MD8. It's ok, but ONLY ok.

You can make very respectable music demos with that gear, so my advice is to mix with open ears and see where the music takes you. Concentrate on making the MUSIC as good as you can. Producers are not as interrested in the "recording" end of your demo. Make the song sell itself, and everything else will come along in perspective.
