The thing is, it's pretty rare to find a keyboard player in a full live band using an arranger. At least in the USA.
I've had a couple of live band guys go buy a used G70 after hearing me play one in full bands, but on the whole, few full band guys use them. They tend to go for the Motif or Krome type things, or do the Nord Stage keyboard thing, but it's not too often you see a guy playing with an arranger but NOT using any auto stuff.
But I'm completely sold. Unless you are in a fully rehearsed band, and can afford the time to create splits and layers etc. at rehearsal or before, the WS's and stage keyboards SUCK at putting a split and layered patch together on the spot. But arrangers are designed to be able to do all that on the fly.
Despite having Kurzweil and Korg workstations (and a bunch of other things), if I get the call to go out with a full band, I grab my G70. A better live band keyboard has yet to be invented.
And, I'd like to think that I'm as serious as they come..!
