Take a look at Electro-Voice. I used their SB122 subs (molded plastic cabinets and 35lbs each) and ZX-1's (molded plastic 16 lbs) with sub poles for 90% of what I did both singles and with the band. Mixer and power amp required in rack, or powered mixer. My amp put out 660w @ 4 ohms. Added a pair of Klipsch 215's for oversized outdoor stuff. There are now powered sub/satellite combos from EV as well (ZXa1 sub and ZXa1 powered satellite). The clarity is superb, and the 12" subs sound like others 15's+.
