Yep, there are times when there's no wind, or a light wind and lots of current in the opposite direction of where you need to go. Under those circumstances you fire up the engine, a 30-HP Universal Atomic-4 gasoline, and at half throttle, it will send you in the right direction at 6 to 7 MPH. That's if conditions are relatively calm. When it gets nasty, you could be down to 3 MPH, which is a brisk walk speed. The gas tank on the boat is 30 gallons, which will allow me to go about 250 miles, therefore, I carry another 15 gallons for security. That's why the three 5-gallon cans are strapped to the gunwale.
