Nigel, I'm not very mechanically inclined. My one son works for me and has the same graduate degrees and arrogant interests and attitudes.
My youngest son is a "hands on" person, and, since I can't help with actually doing projects, I plan and help finance them. We have a successful DJ operation (an Airstream trailer-carshows only), a sound company, we remodel old cars and motor scooters, have a party bus, remodel and sell or rent 4 houses a year, etc. We're on our 2nd kit built motorcycle.
He's a kind-hearted little dude and was interested in the tooling for these pens.
I always put up the money for the projects. He builds some for himself and sells them. I had already started plans for my youth center project, so when I volunteered to buy two set-ups, he offered to supervise/train.
The marketing approach to concentrate/emphasize using woods from famous Kentucky horse farms and distilleries was my input.
Just an effort to support my son, enjoy time with him and do a little good in the process.
R.
