The power supply of my Musicpad Pro gave out the other and had a spare sent by the company some years ago. The original was 12v 4.3a. The replacement was 12v 3.5a. I didn't notice the amperage being lower, and the MPP overheated and shut off.

I tried a 17v 5a powerpak and it works fine without even getting warm. I know the amps is no problem, but what about the increased voltage ?
