It does seem the Micro attracted more users to the Korg, but IMO, It would not make much sense to have both the micro and any other higher end Korg...other than it's lighter and easier to haul.

Basically yes, though for some odd reason the original PA50 (= Micro) stuff plays better on the the PA50 than on the PA500
