Years back on the Technics forum there was a very active knowledgeable helper, he wrote a book on the subject that people wanted; “How to get the most from your Kn7000”. He seemed to have the answer to every problem that was asked. My question; Is there a similar person that has Korg knowledge? Wow wouldn’t that be helpful God knows my Pa800 is challenging me. Happy to say there is, John Smies.

Recently he offered some of his work in a package, he asked for a donation of $40 (I think that’s right) and I told him I was interested. $40 is not much if I was going to get some Good styles. He sent me a surprise package; this was before I had sent him any money. I was amazed; the package was filled with Styles, Performance, (Panel Memory), Instrument sounds and more – converted from different instruments. I was happy to see he included works from my last keyboard, Kn7000.

His work in the different areas is almost flawless but not anymore flawless than the work I have been buying at $29 for 10 styles. I could use John’s work as is it is good but I want to add some of me. As of yet I have not been able to go through all of his work there are so many.

Please keep in mind that I received only the advanced surprise package, the main order is on its way; from what I understand the main order will contain many more times the work I have already received.

Enough about dollars – I am a new fan of John Smies, I just do not know of another single person who has done so much work in areas that are needed for the Korg owner. And he is freely giving it away. I say free because $40 for this type of work cannot be considered payment. For nine months I have been programming and working and trying to understand the korg OS; I am doing well but I wondered where was I going to find the time to create some great styles, sounds, and performances, things that I feel are good. John just solved that problem.

I will write again when I receive John’s work.
If it sounds like I am holding a flag for John it is only because when I see a talent who has put in so much time and the wants to share his talent so freely I have to admire him. I now have new Latins, Shuffles, Big Band, Ballads, and much more.

Life is good, John C.
