I thought just about this:

To add a "slot in" for a removable disk drive.

So in case the HD should fail : just pull it out and replace it with a 2nd one. That would take max 1 minute

But I´m a home player, I don´t need it.

On the other hand this would make it very easy to do backups or to store a few gigabyte of mp3-files on Audya´s HD

Thinking about it in 1 year when the warranty is no longer valid
