Roel,

Everybody knows that SD1 is not an ordinary PC. But when you say "memory" (specially RAM) there is somewhat a common sense across all devices.

If SD1 converts wave files internally to its own format that is 4 times the original size but Yamaha 9000Pro doesn't do that, then SD1 memory management is poor, and that is a problem! And we should point that out. In that case designating 64MB to Yamaha 9000Pro and 16MB to SD1 is misleading. SD1 should be designated only 4MB of memory.

If the specification said that SD1 has only 4MB of RAM (or if there is a warning saying that SD1 internally uses 4 times the data size loaded into it), I would have definitely bought Yamaha 9000Pro instead of SD1.

Fortunately, AJ has already stated that there is a GUI problem in OS 4.0a where it displays the wrong amount of remaining memory, and SD1 doesn't use memory 4 times the size of the loaded files. AJ has also stated that the problem would be fixed in OS 4.0b. Necdet's post of this thread is regarding that issue.
