Dear James,

The Expression Performance is as follows... WERSI OAS instruments have the ability to set the expression control parameter for each sound selector at between -100 to +100 for the expression pedal. With the Selector controls for Upper 1,2,3 & 4 sounds and Lower, 1,2 & 3 sounds, you can set the variable parameter for expression between any of the fore mentioned variables.

The resulting effect is that using the volume swell pedal, you can interweave sounds.

For example, if you had Upper Selector 1 set to +100 and used a Soprano choir sound, when you use the expression volume control swell pedal, the sound will be controlled in the normal way (when the foot is pulled back, the volume is at it's minimum, while when the volume pedal is 'accelerated' the sound volume will increase to it's maximum when the expression volume pedal is accelerated to it's maximum setting [push full down].

On Selector 2, you may wish to use a tenor choir or male choir. You could set the volume to say -100 as an extreme this then means that the volume / expression works in the opposit way to Selector 1.

To go further, you could set Selector 3 to a boys choir and set the expression to +30, and then the resulting sound will also have it's own expression interweaving among the first two selectors.

For the 4th selector, lets say an Operatic Soprano was selected and was set to -20 for expression... the overal resulting sound gain will interweave with the motions and control of the expression pedal.

The results are incredible... especially for Choir / vocal and orchestral sounds. Add to the expression controls, selector settings for Dynamic curves, Reverbs, Delays, Panning, EQ, Detune, Aftertouch, Dynamic Touch and many more... well the sound is simply fabulous.

It can be a little bit complex to setup and time consuming, this is why we have already done the hard work for our customers.

We are shooting a series of video promos very soon showing such techniques and settings and the abilities of the OAS instrument range... as we feel that all too often customers and potential customers aren't aware of the many varied features of the OpenArt-System.

Best regards,

Robert
