There is a difference in sound between the S910 and T2, especially when when played through some good speakers. I happen to have a friend's S910 besides my T2, played through Mackie SRM450's (same settings, cables, CMP OFF and EQ flat, Effects Off, Studio Drum Kit), and the T2 sounds much cleaner and discrete. Also, there is less noise coming from the T2 outputs.

As Diki said, it is all about the DAC's.

I remember doing the same thing with a VA76 and G1000, and guess what? The G1000 sound came out much better through the same speakers. The same thing goes for the PA800 and PA2x. Although Korg claims that it is basically the same machine, there is a difference in sound between the two.

Again, don't expect "HALF-WAY" decent DAC's from anything other than a TOTL arranger.

P.S. If the drums sound muddy and boomy on S910 or T2, especially the snares, try adjusting the LPF and HPF frequencies in the REVERB settings. I have achieved some very good resultswith this, where the snares and overall drums sound punchier in the mix. I also have the CMP turned OFF and Master EQ is used only to CUT certain frequencies.
