A personal setting favorite for me:

Edit Preferences>
The total topics to show per page AND Total posts to show
on one page has a default setting of 10 per. I've changed
both to 30. For me this eliminates having to 'turn pages'
on longer threads.

And if you miss the old Synthzone default color, you can
Scroll to bottom and choose ubbthreads-sz
These setting makes me feel back home
