With all due respect to those who celebrate Kwanzaa - and I TRULY mean that - , I think there are some gigs that some of us should really say "I'm sorry, but I don't think I can fulfill the needs of your audience" ... I know I would be uncomfortable playing a Chanukah party because I have not had enough demand or exposure to that music ... I would much rather recommend that they hire a musician of that ethnic group ... Unless you are going to do it as a DJ and have a laptop full of the appropriate music ... BTW ,,, I recently heard a DJ who used a wireless laptop to control everything ... if he got a request he did not know, he just downloaded it from the I'net ...
