Seems Yamaha don't want the drums to be barely heard at all...

But listen to how poorly most arranger players voice their leads, totally overpowering the backing, and you realize they are aiming for the meat of their market!
I guess most recorded music post 60's must annoy you as much, Donny, as much in the fore as drums got mixed from then on on...

I look forward to hearing someone with good ears and a T4 posting something here. I am sure that at least 50% of the criticism of Yamaha's drums comes simply from how far back they are mixed on ROM styles and Registrations, and at least SOME of the other 50% can be fixed by changing the styles to use the new drum kits. And, after all, were Yamaha to think that their drums WERE absolutely perfect the way they were, why even BOTHER to bring in some new ones for the T4?

Hopefully, the T5 can continue this trend, and bring out some good stick kits that up the bar, too. And maybe a few arranger players can listen to themselves AFTER they have played something, compare it to a CD, and realize just how buried they have made the accompaniment and especially the drums...
