Absolutely true...the host port is driven by PC software drivers (r equivelent).

I sure would not buy a controller without MIDI in, out, and even...thru.

The ones without MIDI (5 pins) are designed for PC connection only. You could of course go to the PC...then MIDI ox to the Audya.
