I have an XR. I really like it. One of the main reasons I like it though is the SRX expansion cards. I don't find the drums in the XR to be very good at all, but the SRX-01 goes a long way to fixing that. Another very useful card is the xrx-09 world card. I love that card for the percussion, and a lot of the country sounds, banjos, mandolins, resophonic guitars, steel guitar, etc.

I find the XR piano to be very nice. Not as big and full as one might wish for solo piano, but some EQ can fix that. But for sitting in a mix, I find it to be a very realistic piano.

Overall I'd say the sounds are good, but SRX cards make it much better.
