There is a fairly high profile member who has posted comments quite often of a sarcastic or negative tone, who then pronounces he's done with the thread and starts deleting his comments. I'm reasonably sure he's not the only one who's ever done this.

Its kind of a "hit and run" technique that most of us don't care for.

That said, you can always delete the text that says this comment has been edited at the bottom of the text field...
