>>"In the past I've noticed on 3rd party song files that some manage to load patches into TEMP data bank so that you needn't load a certain soundbank into the USER group before coz the song file will do it for you.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Are you talking about the difference between .svd files and .mid files with patch sysex at the beginning?
.SVD files are loaded directly into user locations. .Mid files with patch sysex are loaded into whichever location (Temp or User) they were originally saved from.
>Does anyone know how I might be able to save sounds into the songs and rather than just the info that says Use performance {Whatever} and Patch {Whatever} it gives all the updated patch parameters?
You can save patches as sysex into the beginning of a song using Transfer Data, but to have them available for a sequence you have to have them in a performance and have the performance saved either (1) as sysex itself (using the Song + Sound save method for your song) or as (2) a User performance in User memory.
>>Is it actually possible to use my XP60 alone or do I have to create and save SYSEX into MIDI-1 format on a PC?
Yes, you can use the XP60 alone. You don't need a computer except to snatch patches or whatever off the net.
But I'm still unsure I have understood your question correctly.
Anybody else?
