Just not sure ping-ponging is the way to go any more, not with little 8 track record 16 track playback devices like the Zoom R16 also quite cheap...

Bottom line is that, honestly, the laptop you are typing this on is better for the job than most of these things if you want to record a masterpiece in your hotel room...
