I don't think the SA 300 sounds good without the sub. Maybe it would work for an acoutic guitar/vocal but not keyboards.But the sub is so light anyways...

As far as the white noice, I used my Bose Compact at home for the first time and it made alot of white noice too. I haven't noticed this on gigs. Maybe it's the grounding at my house?
