The majority don't send separate Note-Off messages, even though that is part of the original MIDI spec.

It is just less data-intensive to send Note-On and Duration data, which in effect does the same thing.

Some keyboards have a setting deep in the menuy bowels that can turn the Note-Off data on, this may solve it if you've got that option.

Occasionally I've found the need to set the designated controller keyboard to send only on the MIDI channel being used at the time as vs the default of ALL to solve this problem. Don't know why, just know it worked and let it go at that.
