Hi:

I recommend you save all the data(Performances, User styles, GLobal, etc),
Get a USB drive (be generous, at least one gig)
insert it, then:
1 Press Media, then Save.
2 Select the Front (I assume you connected in the front of the keyboard), put a name like Original PA2X or something like that, so you know is the original data.
3 Wait until is done and that is it.

If you want to have even more confidence before you update it, Then Make a BACKUP.

For that you also can have it done in the same USB drive, Follow steps:
1 Insert USB, Press Media
2 Go to UTILITY or Preferences(I am not at the keyboard, is by memory).
3 Select BackUP....it will ask you if you want it compress it, it really does not make difference other than the space that it takes in the USB drive.
If you want to get the keyboard back to it's original state, then use in the Utility folder, the restore function.
Is really easier that what it sounds.

I do not think you have LOTS of data since basically just got the keyboard, so, actually, you better off with the Update since it contains new functions, sounds, etc.
Hope it helps.
