Supports my idea that you gotta have that "pocket"...a well-defined space to play in; defined by the rhythm section. Chas is right; the bass player is awesome. Notice the drummer plays cross-hand. Not saying that's the best style, but lots of giants in the percussion field play that way.

This kind of music IS my thing. Unless you're Chick Corea, these's no work playing this style around here.
