I'm going to the tripods myself; the old steel base stands are heavier and more awkward.

Also, has anyone recorded directly from a CM-30? I'd like to use my Zoom H2, but there doesn't seem to be acceptable out(s) except the steroe link(s). If you have, how do you hook that up?
