I use two monitors at work (widescreen 17" laptop display and standard 19" LCD monitor) side-by-side. The laptop is directly in front of me while the monitor is to the right, angled slightly to point towards me. It has without a doubt made me more productive and provides a better computing experience. I highly recommend it. My boss often uses three or four at a time! (with more than one computer...)
