mdorantes,

Very good idea to try it out thoroughly before you buy.
I bought prematurely but will live with it for the time being.

My opinion of the T3;

The Good:
Greatly improved Clarinet - Very nice
Improved Saxophone SA2s - Very good
Improved Organ/Hammond/rotary - much better

The not so good:
OTS voice volumes are poorly balanced with some really ridiculous voice choices, much worse than the T2 - The T3 has been rushed to market me thinks.
I'm not sure I like the registration buttons way over to the right hand side on the T3, as sometimes you MUST use your left hand for reg. changes and this becomes a real challenge for fast access with sometimes unreliable results.

The Ugly:
The Concert Grand Piano is rubbish IMO it's all bum & forehead, nothing in the middle, good lows, nice highs but mid to upper mid range = yuck
It is far worse than the original "Live Grand" in T1 & T2
- Deliberately degraded sample I suspect.
I now despise this Concert Grand and have a lot of work in front of me changing every C. Grand part back to the original T2 Live Grand.

You really owe it to yourself to sound test it thoroughly side by side if possible with your existing keyboard.

Yamaha has done a disservice to its previously loyal customers by rushing this keyboard to market.

I've had 4 Yamaha keyboards in a row, each one (until now), a great improvement on the previous model, but after my T3 purchase I will definitely not automatically purchase the next iteration from Yamaha, without a thorough comparison with other manufacturers’ boards.

To be honest if I knew what I know now, I would have kept my T2.
The T3 is just not really worth the upgrade from the T2 (IMO). Live and learn I guess.

Chris.
