Not really. He was all about the M3. I told him about my experience with the PA2x and thought it was a great gigging keyboard. He wants us to carry the workstations. We won't carry any because people will demo them here then but them on the net to save the tax. But we do carry the VOX and MArshall line form him.
But we only really carry the Yamaha Home keyboard line. We have one Tyros 3 and I can tell you it will sit for a long time. I think the only reason my boss oredered it is because I bought one on the employee program for 10% less than wholesale and he figures I will be the only one in the store able to demo it.
This is a Clavinova market. I'll sell $5,000 CVP 405s while the Tyros sits.
Even though Myrtle Beach has a lot of work for singles and duos. NO one uses Arrangers on the job. Even My wife who has made her living as a professional musician will record the arranger parts on a CD and fill in the rest on the gig. She would rather haul the 88 keys and her Guitar around and play with tracks.
Except for guitars, baby grands, and Home Keyboards this is a low end market. No $3000 keyboards sell quickly. PSR900s do well especially with Latinos for some reason.
All working musicians around here still see arrangers keyboards as "less than professional" sophisticated karaoke machines. Like me they buy them for studio use and drag a workstation to the gigs.
