That's the thing about rock... it's not really about individual skill, more the melding of strengths and weaknesses to make a greater whole...

It's very different to jazz, where sometimes ensemble strength takes a back seat to individual pyrotechnics (not always, but it DOES happen a lot, IMO). Sort of an orchestra of ALL soloists...! A violin concerto needs second violins as much as it needs the soloist.
